Test protocols and material selection
Ear devices are exposed to sweat, sebum, and continuous pressure. Lower-grade plastics quickly turn brittle under these conditions. For this reason, the design uses ABS polymer for the outer casing and medical-grade silicone for the earpieces. Both materials are tested for skin compatibility and continuous mechanical stress.
Materials under continuous use
ABS polymer resists impacts and protects the internal electronics from mechanical shock. Silicone tips must stay flexible without releasing plasticizers at body temperature.
- Quality inspection: Before shipment, each device undergoes an acoustic test in a measurement chamber to evaluate distortion levels and internal noise.
- Traceability: The raw materials used, particularly the 304 stainless steel for care tools, carry material certificates regarding corrosion resistance.
Impact on reliability
Improper fits or leaky housing seams cause whistling sounds from acoustic feedback. Only precisely manufactured edges and dimensionally stable silicone domes seal the ear canal reliably. This ensures steady sound transmission without frequency loss over many months of use.
